The first SMU-Lauritzen seminar was successfully held at SMU on the 7th of May. The seminar attracted about 60 attendees, among whom are Mr. Peter Borup, CEO of Lauritzen Bulkers, Mr. Anders Johansen, General Manager of Lauritzen Bulkers Shanghai, Mr. Martin Sato, General Manager of Lauritzen Bulkers Singapore, Prof. Jin Yongxing, Chairman of SMU University Council and Ms. Yu Hongrong, Head of SMU International Office.
At first, Mr. Peter Borup delivered a speech, themed on Business Models in Dry Bulk Shipping. And then, 4 Lauritzen Bulkers representatives joined in group discussions with 50 SMU students, from whom they chose 8 seminar winners. The winners consisted of Wang Shuhua and Chen Hongyu from College of Transport and Communications, Chen Chuchu and Mao Lingshu from School of Economics and Management, and overseas students including Baffoe Benjamin Ohene Kwapong, Kordieh Jnr Beniamin, Bissemb Celestin Delphin and Aggrey-Mills Joseph. Prof. Jin Yongxin and Mr. Peter Borup issued certificates and bonuses to the winners.
After the seminar, Mr. Peter Borup interviewed students who applied for exchange program of Copenhagen Business School, Denmark. Finally, 3 candidates stood out from the interview and they are going to study at Copenhagen Business School in the fall semester of 2015.
