On March 9, Prof. Jin Yongxing, Chairman of SMU University Council and Mr. Xiao Jiabao, Vice President of SMU visited CCS (China Classification Society), and they were welcomed warmly by President Sun Licheng and Secretary Yang Yong of CCS.
Prof. Jin Yongxing thanked CCS for its support to SMU, introducing the SMU’s achievements in the construction of Shanghai International Shipping Center and China (Shanghai) Pilot Free Trade Zone as well as its role in the International Maritime Organization. He said, “SMU attaches great importance to specialized disciplines and majors such as Shipping, Marine Materials and Environment. In addition, the Marine Engine Room Integrated Lab and the Marine Materials Lab of SMU have reached the domestic first-class level, which is capable to offering relevant service to CCS and conducting cooperation with CCS.” Prof. Jin Yongxing also said, the development of the university relied largely on the support of industry, and SMU is willing to cooperate with CCS in such fields as discipline construction, scientific research, teaching and personnel training, technical services, and decision-making consultation.
