On the afternoon of January 30, the Review Meeting and Welcome Tea Party of Shanghai Overseas Returned Scholars Association (SORSA), Pudong Branch was held at SMU. Secretary General of SORSA Wang Jianmin, Executive Vice Chairmen of SORSA Pudong Brance Jiang Yanqiao and Li Weimin, Vice Chairman of SORSA Pudong Brance He Ying, other members from SORSA Pudong Branch, Vice-Minister Huang Jianxiang from the United Front Work Department of Pudong New District, Deputy Secretary Ding Haitao from Science and Technology Commission of Pudong New District, and representatives from Overseas Chinese Affair Office and Science & Technology Association of Pudong New District attended the meeting. Prof. Jin Yongxing, Chairman of SMU University Council attended the meeting as a senior of SORSA.
Prof. Jin Yongxing delivered a welcoming speech, briefing the developments of SMU and performance of SMU seniors of SORSA in their positions, hoping SORSA to attract more overseas returned scholars.
On behalf of SORSA Pudong Branch, Executive Vice Chairman Li Weimin reviewed the work over the past year and proposed the blueprint for work in 2015.
Thinking highly of SORSA Pudong Branch, secretary General Wang Jianmin said SORSA played a key role in uniting scholars at home and abroad, enhancing friendship, improving academic exchange, communication and collaboration.
Representatives from SORSA, the United Front Work Department of Pudong New District, Overseas Chinese Affair Office and Science & Technology Association of Pudong New District thanked SMU for its contribution to SORSA.
