On November 10, Prof. Graham Galbraith, Vice-Chancellor of University of Portsmouth, and other 3 guests visited SMU. Prof. Jin Yongxing, Vice President of SMU and heads from Foreign Language College met with the guests.
Prof. Jin Yongxing delivered a welcome speech and briefed the development of SMU. He said SMU had cooperated with University of Portsmouth for four years on the 3+1 dual degree program for English majors, which was helpful to their study and also served as a big plus in their job seeking. He also expected the two sides to cooperate further in the future.
Prof. Graham Galbraith said he was very happy to visit SMU. With the cooperation program being very successful, he expected the two sides to enhance cooperation in such disciplines as logistics, shipping, economics, etc.
University of Portsmouth is one of the public schools of UK and has become a comprehensive university which offers pre-university, undergraduate and post-graduate programs since 1900 when it issued its first degree certificate. SMU has cooperated with University of Portsmouth on the 3+1 dual degree program for English majors since 2011.
