On October 29, 5 guests, including Mr. Michael Chipps, President of Northeast Community College, Mr. Richard Warner, expert from National Great Rivers Research and Education Center, and Mr. James Mckenney, Special Assistant to Chairman of American Association of Community Colleges, accompanied by Mr. Zheng Xiaoyong from China Education Association for International Exchange, Ministry of Education of China, visited SMU. Prof. Jin Yongxing, Vice President of SMU and heads from relevant departments and colleges met with the guests.
Prof. Jin Yongxing delivered a welcome speech, briefing the developments of SMU. He hoped to deepen the understanding of the two sides by virtue of the visit of Mr. Michael Chipps and expected to enhance the communication with Northeast Community College in programs in shipping and water environment.
Mr. Michael Chipps introduced the Northeast Community College, expecting to carry out more academic exchanges with SMU with the advantages of the two sides fully tapped.
The guests also visited the SMU Marine Simulator and other teaching facilities.
