On June 6, Accra, Ghana time, the graduation ceremony of the first SMU- RMU Joint B.Sc. Degree Program in Logistics Management and the 2014 graduation ceremony of RMU (Regional Maritime University) were held in Accra, Ghana. Prof. Huang Youfang, President of SMU, attended the ceremony and delivered a speech.
Other guests invited in the ceremony were Mr. Hannah Serwaa Tetteh, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ghana, Mr. Leonard Koroma, Minister of Transport of Sierra Leone and Chairman of RMU Council, Mr. Dzifa Attivor, Minister of Transport of Ghana, Mr. Jeon Pierre Soh, Minister of Transport of Cameroon, Mr. Fatou Lamin Faye, Minister of Transport and Construction of Gambia, Mr. Binyah Kesselly, Director of Maritime Administration of Liberia and other relevant heads.
Prof. Huang Youfang extended his congratulations to the 34 graduates, and thanked the hardworking teachers of two universities, encouraging the graduates to make contributions to the shipping and logistics industries of their own countries and other African countries with the knowledge they have learned in the past four years both in Accra and in Shanghai.
Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ghana, Minister of Transport of Ghana, Minister of Transport of Sierra Leone and President of RMU gave their speeches respectively. They thought highly of the SMU-RMU Joint B.Sc. Degree Program in Logistics Management and thanked SMU for the cooperative education program in Ghana, which has made great contribution to the talent training of Central and West Africa.
34 graduates in the 1st program in Logistics Management, coming from Ghana, Nigeria, Congo, Cameroon and Togo, achieved a graduation certificate and B.Sc. degree from SMU. The best student of this program, Cheikwi Che, coming from Cameroon, was elected as the only 2014 Best Graduate of RMU. Cheikwi Che gave a speech as a student representative in the ceremony. He reviewed his study and life both in Accra and in Shanghai, and wished SMU and RMU a better future.
