Recently, Mr. Koji Sekimizu, Secretary General of International Maritime Organization (IMO) met with Prof. Jin Yongxing, Chairman of International Maritime Lecturers Association (IMLA) and Vice President of SMU, at the headquarter of IMO in London.
Prof. Jin Yongxing thanked Secretary General Koji Sekimizu for his care and support to IMLA and briefed the recent achievements of IMLA. Meanwhile, Prof. Jin Yongxing introduced SMU’s participation in events held by IMO and cooperation with World Maritime University (WMU), in particular, the Master of Science in International Transport & Logistics Program jointly hosted by SMU and WMU, which achieved a full mark in the evaluation of China-foreign cooperative education programs by the Ministry of Education.
Secretary General Koji Sekimizu also expressed his gratitude to IMLA for its important role in IMO’s file drafting and revising as a consultative body for the decision-making of IMO. In addition, he expected SMU and WMU to enhance their cooperation on the basis of stable relationship, including sending teachers to WMU for further study or work.
