On April 24, the African Class (matriculated in 2011) of the 2nd Joint B.Sc. Program in Logistics Management jointly operated by SMU and Regional Maritime University boarded the training ship of SMU—“Yufeng” in Zhangjiagang city, commencing their 6-day navigation practice. “Yufeng” will call at Busan and Gwangyang for a short stay before its return.
There are altogether 33 students from seven African countries, including Ghana, Nigeria, Togo, Cameroon, Congo, Cote d'Ivoire and Benin, taking part in the practice. During the practice, the students will practice ship navigation, cargo operation, etc., with the guidance of teachers and staff. In addition, they will take turns in cleaning and cooking, which is also part of the practice by Chinese students.
