On March 10, SMU and the Nagasaki University of Foreign Studies signed a Cooperation Agreement. President of Nagasaki University of Foreign Studies, Mr. Ishikawa Akihito, Vice President of SMU, Prof. Jin Yongxing and leaders from relative departments and colleges attended the signing ceremony.
Vice President Jin Yongxing noted that he is very glad to carry out cooperation and exchange with Nagasaki University of Foreign Studies, and expects the two sides to implement the agreement as soon as possible so as to cultivate more high-level language talents.
President Ishikawa Akihito expressed that Nagasaki University of Foreign Studies pays close attention to the collaboration with Chinese universities, and has developed cooperation with Wuhan University, Xiamen University and Jilin University. SMU is the first partner university within Shanghai. He hoped the two sides may take this opportunity to deepen understanding and facilitate further cooperation.
According to the agreement, SMU’s Foreign Languages College will conduct cooperation with Nagasaki University of Foreign Studies in the fields of student exchange, academic information communication, academic materials exchange and faculty exchange. Both sides will firstly implement the programs of “3+1”and “2+2” for the students who are majoring in Japanese.
