On December 9, German TüV NORD Group, the verification, testing and certification organization signed Memorandum of Understanding with SMU. Dr. Guido Rettig, Chairman of Management Board and CEO of TüV NORD, Dr. Dirk Stenkamp, Global Managing Director of TüV NORD, Prof. Huang Youfang, President of SMU, Mr. Yang Wanfeng, Vice President of SMU, and leaders from relative departments and colleges attended the signing ceremony.
Dr. Guido Rettig, Dr. Dirk Stenkamp, Prof. Huang Youfang, Prof. Hu Xiong, Dean of Logistics Engineering College of SMU co-signed the Memorandum of Understanding. According to the memorandum, TüV NORD Group and Logistics Engineering College of SMU would join efforts to build a laboratory and develop comprehensive cooperative relations on the testing and certification for port machinery and marine equipments while exchanging experience in relevant standards set up by the international standard ISO 17025/17020.
After the ceremony, Prof. Hu Xiong introduced SMU’s achievements in port machinery and marine equipments since 2005, while Dr. Dirk Stenkamp briefed on the basic situation as well as future development planning of TüV NORD Group. The two sides were fully confident about their future cooperation.
TüV NORD Group is one of the earliest and largest international verification and certification organizations that work to validate the safety, quality and certification of products. The Group has set up the branch offices, subsidiary companies or joint ventures in dozens of countries with widely services involving cars, industries and system safety. In recent years, the services are enhanced to include consultation, implementation and training on the basis of the traditional service areas such as testing and certification.
