On November 29, the 9th Ceremony of SMU-NORDEN Scholarship and Awards was held at SMU. Mr. Carsten Mortensen, President and CEO of NORDEN Group, Mr. Ejner Bonderup, Executive Vice President of NORDEN Group, Mr. Jakob Bergholdt, Vice President of NORDEN Group, Prof. Huang Youfang, President of SMU, and Prof. Jin Yongxing, Vice President of SMU along with representatives of teachers and students took part in the ceremony.
Prof. Huang Youfang delivered a speech, in which he thanked for Norden’s support over the years, and appreciated the cooperation between Norden and SMU that played positive role in joint training and encouraging SMU teachers and students. SMU had been focusing on the development of shipping industry, expecting to carry out more exchanges and cooperation with the enterprises. He extended congratulations on Norden’s 10th anniversary, and wished Norden to develop with flourishing performance.
On behalf of NORDEN Group, Mr. Ejner Bonderup reviewed Norden’s development history in China, and noted that SMU had transported many outstanding students to Norden who had contributed to the company’s progress.
Mr. Carsten Mortensen and Prof. Huang Youfang together granted the scholarship certificates and bonus to the winners.
The students who won the 9th NORDEN Scholarship were junior students named Tang Jiaru, Sha Junlin, Wang Mengxiao, Wei Yuan, and Chu Yifan, respectively from Economics and Management College, Transport and Communications College, Law School and Merchant Marine College; the best teacher prizes were given to Mr. Yu Jun from Economics and Management College and Ms. Luo Jie from Merchant Marine College.
