Recently, 2013 China-France Friendly Match of Boules and SMU Students Boules Competition was held at SMU. Mr. Philip, President of French Multi Bowls Federation, Mr Zhong Guowei, Secretary-General of Chinese Multi Bowls Association (CMBA), national team from China and France, Prof. Kong Fancun, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and Vice President of SMU together with leaders of relative departments of SMU attended the opening ceremony and watched the match.
During the opening ceremony, Prof. Kong Fancun delivered the welcome speech and extended sincere gratitude to China and France national team for their coming wonderful performance. He hoped the two teams could enjoy themselves at SMU, conducted more sports exchange activities and excelled in the 9th World Games.
Mr. Philip noted that he was so glad to see such beautiful playing field and so many university students to participate in Chinese universities. And he expected to either catch sight of SMU students on the international stage or visit SMU again in the future for study or exchange.
On behalf of the Multi-ball Games Administrative Centre of General Administration of Sport of China, Mr. Zhong Guowei thanked SMU for hosting this event, which had not only successfully filled the blanks in Shanghai, but made contributions to the spread and development of boules across the whole country with a series of excellent achievements. He hoped SMU could continue to support such competition, making new breakthroughs.
