On June 17th, the 2nd SMU International Students Summer School Program was officially launched. Teachers from University of Plymouth and Saint Martin’s University, Mr. Yang Wanfeng, Vice President of SMU, leaders of relative departments and colleges, teachers of SMU and 49 international students attended the opening ceremony.
Mr. Yang Wanfeng, Vice President of SMU delivered the welcome speech. He mentioned that SMU had a long history of cooperation with University of Plymouth and Saint Martin’s University, and had made fruitful achievements. Teachers and students from University of Plymouth had participated in the summer school program since last year and had received well feedback, while it was the first time for students from Saint Martin’s University, which meaned the further cooperation of SMU with these two universities. Mr. Yang expected the international students could learn more about Chinese culture and society from this summer school study, and acted as ambassadors of bilateral friendships.
On behalf of all the foreign students, representative teachers from University of Plymouth and Saint Martin’s University expressed thanks for the elaborate preparations and arrangements of SMU one after another, and looked forward to gaining harvest in China.
At last, teachers from International Education College made an orientation for the students.
