On the afternoon of May 29, 2013 SMU Young Teacher Teaching Competition Finals was successfully held in Lingang Campus of SMU. The young teachers first selected lectures by themselves, and then showed the teaching skills respectively within 15 minutes. They represented SMU teachers’ elegance with a deep impression of their enthusiasm, devotion and professionalism for work. The atmosphere of the competition was vivid and active, and the audience broke into bursts of warm applause from time to time. Some colleges had also organized cheering squad to support their teachers.
At last, Mr. Yu Jun, from School of Economics & Management, won the first prize. His explanations of the profound course in simple terms, well-developed skills and enthusiastic performance earned the recognition of the judges and the audience. Ms. Chen Jihong, from College of Transport & Communications, Mr. Zhang Pan, from Higher Technical College and Ms. Luo Jie, from Merchant Marine College got the second prize. Mr. Yin Jun, from Law School, Ms. Xie Qian, from College of Arts and Sciences, Ms. Xu Xin, from College of Foreign Languages, Mr. Dong Liangcai and Mr. Yao Gang, from Logistics Engineering College, and Mr. Su Penghao, from College of Ocean Environment and Engineering were awarded the third prize. College of Arts and Sciences received the “Best Organization Award” again.
