On the afternoon of May 21, Mr. Joerg Beiler, President of DNV Greater China and Vice President of DNV gave a lecture entitled “Shipping 2020” at the Merchant Marine College of SMU. Prof Jin Yongxing, Vice President of SMU, leaders of relative departments and colleges as well as teacher and student representatives attended the lecture.
According to the global economy and transport demand, the development tendency of shipping regulations and technology, Mr. Joerg Beiler described the new technology and direction for the development of global shipping industry that might appear from 2012 to 2020 by using simulation models and data. After the lecture, Mr. Joerg Beiler answered the questions put forward by SMU students in detail.
