On April 8, the 4th Hai Lan Culture Festival & Graduate Culture Festival was launched at lecture hall of the library. Prof. Yu Shicheng, Chairman of SMU University Council, Prof. Kong Fancun, Vice President of SMU, Mr. Zhuang Wei, General Manager of BIMCO Greater China, Mr. Qi Yinliang, Chief Editor of www.Ship.sh, leaders in charge of each college, teacher representatives, and graduate representatives attended the opening ceremony.
Mr. Zhuang Wei, General Manager of BIMCO Greater China, and Mr. Qi Yinliang, Chief Editor of www.Ship.sh delivered keynote speeches entitled “Challenges for Chinese Shipping Industry under Green Shipping Waves” and “Low Carbon Shipping, Together You and Me” respectively. Then they interacted with the graduate students who were present at the opening ceremony.
The theme of this festival is “Protecting the Ocean Environment and Launching the Green Shipping”. A series of academic and recreational activities such as academic seminars, papers contest, badminton competition and photography competition, the festival would further would be carried forward so as to inspire the graduate students’ innovative thinking and form a positive cultural atmosphere.
