On the morning of April 15, the Guest Professor Appointment Ceremony for Mr. Jeremy Penn, CEO of the Baltic Exchange was held at the lecture hall of College of Transport & Communications.
Prof. Huang Youfang, President of SMU delivered the welcoming speech. Then he awarded the appointment letter to Mr. Jeremy Penn, CEO of the Baltic Exchange, helped him wear the school badge and gave him gifts.
After the appointment ceremony, Mr. Jeremy Penn gave a lecture entitled “The Baltic Exchange and the World’s Shipping Market” to the teachers and students of College of Transport & Communications. He briefed on the development history and present condition of the Baltic Exchange, the generation process of Baltic Index and FFA Index, and the significant role of the Baltic Exchange in the world shipping economy. Then he interacted affectionately with the students and answered their questions.
