Economist of American Policy Think-Tank Gives an Academic Lecture at SMU

On September 14th, on invitation of Social Science Department and Liberal Arts and Science College of SMU, Adam S. Hersh, the American economist of policy think-tank, gave an academic lecture entitled The Political Economy Analysis of American Economic Growth and Stagnation at room 323 of Liberal Arts and Science College.

During more than two hours of lecturing, Adam S. Hersh gave an analysis over the latest news about American economy. He explained the causes and influence of the financial crisis. He also talked about the basic features of the new liberalism economic policy and its relationship with the financial crisis. Further more, he mentioned the point of learning from Chinese experiences of economic development. Teaching staff of Social Science Department and more than 40 postgraduate students and undergraduate students attended the lecture and communicated with each other.

Adam S. Hersh is an Economist at the Center for American Progress. Adam's areas of expertise include economic growth, macroeconomics, international economics, and China and other Asian economies. Adam publishes articles in peer review economics journals and his writings have appeared in popular publications like The American Prospect, Challenge, and a number of newspapers and online journals.
