Recently, 59 students from SMU flied to University of Plymouth for a 30-day summer school program. The study program mainly covered includes: the courses of English language and culture, lectures of maritime policies and laws and visiting the Maritime Institutions at London.
The courses of English language and culture and lectures of maritime policies and laws were delivered by excellent teachers of University of Plymouth. Students were assigned to small-sized classes during the speaking English courses in order to guarantee the teaching quality. Moreover, the University of Plymouth also arranged many top-ranking students to accompany our students during the study program.
At Plymouth, it has fresh and clean natural environment, elegant and wild urban style, warm and friendly local citizens as well as free and open campus culture. All these have greatly expanded the horizons of the students. After the study program, the University of Plymouth award certificates of study to the students from SMU.
This is the first summer school program cooperated between SMU and the University of Plymouth. The successful hosting of the activities provides solid foundation for further cooperation of the two universities. The leaders of University of Plymouth hoped that they can also send UK students to experience at SMU in order to strengthen the friendly cooperation between the two universities.
