In September 2009, the United Nations Commission on International Trade Law affirmed Conventions of International Maritime Transport of Goods (Rotterdam Rules). Both the mainland China and Taiwan were confronted with the problem of whether we should accept the rules. If not, both sides would be in the presence of revising their own maritime law system. Experts and scholars from both sides put forward their views and comments, and they also introduced the legislation and administration of maritime laws of both sides. The representatives believed that this conference not only had deepened their understanding of Rotterdam Rule, but also furthered mutual understanding of both sides.
