On June 21, the grand 2011 SMU graduation ceremony was held at SMU Lingang New Campus. The leaders of SMU, principals of schools and departments, teacher representatives, students and parents got together to witness the sacred moment. Prof. Kong Fancun, Vice President of SMU, hosted the ceremony. On the ceremony, four undergraduates coming from the chorus sang the pleasant song of Graduation, touching every student.
Prof. Yu Shicheng, President of SMU, on behalf of the whole staff of the university, addressed the ceremony. He expressed his warm congratulations and best wishes to the 2011 undergraduates who had successfully finished school and will set foot on the future. He also spoke highly of the honor they had won for SMU and encouraged them to realize their dreams with taking the responsibility of serving the society.
Prof. Wu Jianguo, representative of the teachers, gave a speech with the hope that the students who are on the way to society can establish right values and keep learning all the life.
During the ceremony, 139 students who won the Shanghai Outstanding Graduates were commended and conferred the Bachelor’s degree certificates.
