Delegation of Murdoch University Visits SMU

On May 11, a delegation from Murdoch University, Australia, Mr. Philip Hocking, the Executive Director of Educational Engagement, Prof. Malcolm Tull, Dean of the Murdoch Business School, and Prof. Peter Cole, Dean of School of Information Technology, visited SMU. Prof. Jin Yongxing, Vice President of SMU met with the guests.

Prof. Jin Yongxing, expressed that SMU and Murdoch University had reached initial agreement of cooperation on undergraduate program education. He hoped that the agreement could be reached as soon as possible so that the cooperation project could be launched. Both sides held discussions on the project of 2.5+1+0.5 double degree programs on Economics and Commuting for SMU students. The first cooperation project is planned to be carried out in the spring term of 2012.

Murdoch University is a public university based in Perth, Australia. It is home to over 18,500 students including 3,000 international students from over 100 different countries. Murdoch University is a research intensive institution and a member of Innovative Research Universities Australia. According to The Australian newspaper ("What makes a good school of journalism"), Graduate Careers Council of Australia found its Journalism School is one of Australia's top five.
