On April 28, accompanied by Mr.Ito Takao,the former NYK Chief Representative in China, Mr. Ml Keizo Nagai, the newly appointed Chief Representative in China paid a visit to SMU and renewed the NYK-SMU scholarship agreement for the next five years.
Prof. Yu Shicheng, President of SMU and Prof. Jin Yongxing, Vice President of SMU warmly received the guests.President Yu extended his warm welcome to the guests and briefly reviewed the cooperation between NYK and SMU in the past ten years.He expressed his sincere thanks to NYK for their care and strong support. On Behalf of SMU, Prof Yu futher expressed his concern and regards to the people suffered in the Japanese earthquake.
During the talk, Mr. Ml Keizo Nagai was informed about the employment of scholarship-winning students after their graduation. He expected that deeper and closer ties between the two sides will be opened through the renewal of agreement.
Following the talk, President Yu and Mr. ML KEIZO NAGAI signed the NYK-SMU scholarship agreement, according to which, NYK will continue to set aside 15,000 US dollar each year to award and subsidize outstanding SMU undergraduates.
