Liu Hong, female, born in 1969, Professor, doctor of engineering. She graduated from the Wuhan University of Technology (formerly Wuhan Transportation Science and Technology University, Wuhan Institute of Water Transportation Engineering) in 1990 and awarded the Bachelor of Engineering in ship engineering specialty. In 1995, she graduated from the Wuhan Transportation Science and TechnologyUniversityin ship and offshore structure design, manufacturing specialty, awarded the engineering master. In 2007 she graduated from Shanghai Maritime University in transportation planning and management specialty awarded the doctorate. From 1990 to 1992 she has worked at Chongqing shipyard hull workshop and production planning department for two years. From 1995 up to now she was a teacher in School of Communications and Transportation of Shanghai Maritime University. She served as deputy director and department director of the department of transportation management of School of Communications and Transportation in SMU. She was a Napier University Transportation Research Center (TRI) visiting scholar and was young teachers' academic exchanges of scholars of School of business logistics of Hong Kong Polytechnic University.

In 2002 she was named associate professor and professor of School of Communications and Transportation of Shanghai Maritime University in 2011. Taught mainly undergraduate courses: "Ship principles and design basis", "Vehicle", "Introduction water transportation", "Principles of management", "Logistics system simulation", "Introduction to ships" etc.. Since 2003 more than 30 Master graduate students has been directed by her and present has 15 postgraduate students.

Major areas of research include: Ships and Shipping technology, shipping and supply chain management and simulation, Shipping safety, port management and simulation, and so on. Many research projects have been done including the national and provincial and enterprise projects as a responsible person or participant. Dozens of papers have been published by her in authoritative journals, core journals or proceedings of the international conference. The monograph, the modeling and simulation of bullwhip effect in supply chain which was the Shanghai"Eleventh-Five" key book and the textbook, such as the principle of ship etc. were published by her. Her research work has been awarded the National Association Award, which was third national excellent productivity theory and practice "works", Second prize, and NYK third prize. She obtained the Shanghai Maritime University outstanding Educator Award and the outstanding teaching award many times.
